When is it time to discuss TMS in Dallas?
If depression treatment has not helped enough, you can ask for an assessment of your options. The purpose of a TMS consultation is to decide whether this approach fits your history and needs—not to assume you should start.
General education for adults. Your prescriber should guide medication decisions; this page is not a prescription or a plan for changing treatment.
When TMS may enter the conversation
TMS is a noninvasive brain-stimulation treatment used for depression when other treatment has not been sufficient. It requires a clinical assessment. Taking an antidepressant or having side effects does not by itself establish that TMS is appropriate. Source: American Psychiatric Association.
Document what you have already tried
For the consultation, bring whatever treatment records are available. Organizing the history can make it easier to explain your experience without having to remember everything during the visit.
- Medication names, approximate dates, and the instructions you followed.
- What helped, what remained difficult, and why a previous treatment ended.
- Therapy or other care you have received and any ongoing appointments.
- Your main goals for treatment and the questions you want answered.
Safety screening is part of the decision
Tell the team about seizures, implanted devices, and metal in or near the head, along with your medications and medical history. These details can affect whether and how TMS may be used. TMS can cause scalp discomfort or headache and has rare serious risks, including seizures. The assessment is not a substitute for emergency care. Source: American Psychiatric Association.
Check whether the visit plan works for you
Ask the clinic to confirm the proposed schedule and expected appointment length before making arrangements around work or family. Do not assume a schedule advertised by another provider is the schedule offered here.
Our Dallas clinic is on Cole Avenue. You can review the location and directions before the assessment. Ask the office about any building-access needs and current appointment availability.
- How many visits are proposed, and when would we review progress?
- What is included in the course price?
- How would care continue with my existing psychiatrist or therapist?
- What would we discuss if symptoms did not improve?
Understand cost before choosing treatment
The clinic’s published full-course TMS price is $3,500, including the initial psychiatric assessment. We are self-pay and do not bill insurance directly. Psychiatric medication-management visits have separate pricing shared by the office. See current cost and payment details.
